Designer & Builder, using Claude Code and AI agents to design, build, and deploy this site.
I'd been meaning to build a portfolio for years. The no-code builders like Squarespace or Webflow came with recurring monthly fees and template constraints, and anything fully custom required engineering skills I didn't have. I wanted a site that looked the way I wanted it to, lived at a real domain, and didn't cost $20/month for something I'd update a handful of times a year.
I used Claude Code and a structured set of AI agents to work through the build in phases, roughly mirroring how a real product team would approach it: a Software Architect to establish the tech stack and project structure, a UX Architect to define the information architecture, a UI Designer to build the visual design system, a Frontend Developer to implement the pages and components, and a Security Engineer to review the finished product before launch.
I made every design decision, wrote all the content, managed the scope, and reviewed every piece of output, the same way I'd manage any project I was running. The build also put me in an unusual position: I was simultaneously the client, defining requirements and setting the acceptance bar, and the delivery team, taking those requirements and iterating through Claude Code to bring them to life. Switching between those two modes within the same session was its own discipline.
What made it work was the combination of two things: years spent working directly alongside key project team members (which gave me a working vocabulary and mental model for how these pieces fit together) and a sustained focus on AI tools, including prompting techniques, Claude Code, and establishing Skills. I knew what I wanted to build and could communicate it clearly.
The site launched in under 30 days with no prior coding experience. Total ongoing cost is ~$12/year for the domain, with no recurring platform fees.
